LINLEY

August 14, 2008

LINLEY was founded in 1985 and has built an international reputation for the design and manufacture of furniture and more recently, accessories, of  the highest quality. David Linley trained at Parnham House, The School for Craftsman in Wood and opened the first LINLEY shop on the Kings Road in London.

LINLEY has become known for the imaginative use of wood in it’s design of furniture using a  balance of  both traditional and modern techniques to produce furniture of a superlative quality. Woods used encompass both traditional as well as bold and exotic, from walnut, Oak and Sycamore in this Classic Dining Room Table to a Stainless Steel and Rosewood Cigar Cutter.

Apart from the 2 retail outlets and online presence, LINLEY enjoys bespoke commissions and specialises in the design and production of furniture, upholstery, interiors, lighting and accessories. LINLEY has  recently completed a commission for a series of 11 suites for Claridges in Mayfair. This commission confirms LINLEY’s commitment to design and craftsmanship, using the finest traditional techniques of craftsmanship and the use of modern technology to deliver  heirlooms of the future.

LINLEY devotees include Oprah Winfrey, Caroline Harrera, Jo Malone, Kelly Hoppen and Nina Campbell.

"To the furniture designer David Linley, 'star’ pieces of furniture are those that have been built to last and are beautiful enough to stand the test of time. In a new book he explains how to spot such a gem and treat it once you’ve acquired it."
